De-stress the stress

With so many responsibilities to shoulder and a whole lot of workload, needless to say, stress becomes our constant companion. Often times we find ourselves in its strong grip to feel coaxed and bogged. But stress as is, it only becomes intense in its due course and toys with our well-being.

Regardless of it all, there can be certain techniques to bust this stress. And in this post, we're gonna cover them all to just combat it and calm down our emotions.

So let's dive in.

Ease your Tension

When we get stressed, we normally see tension building between the shoulder blades and in the upper back. At this point, it is necessary that you take a break and quickly scan your body for the accumulated tension. Identify the places where you might be holding the tension and take notice of your physical manifestations. So, roll your shoulders and massage those sore areas.

Breathe like a baby

Stress is quite the trouble that calls for restlessness, intense pressure from workload, and whatnot. The later only adds to the list. With that being the case, one must be fully aware and mindful of its advancements into the body and therefore it should be blocked down from surging in the first place. Now as you notice the stress engulfing you, take a break and move away from where you were before. Find a comfortable place for you to sit in. Then close your eyes, put hands on the lap with palms facing upward and relax. Take deep breaths filling your stomach.

Stop the clock

We're constantly reminded of how little time we have at our hands. This constant reminder only ticks up the pressure, the frustration. So stop clock watching and sit quietly. Put on some calming music and do absolutely nothing. Practice this each day for at least 10 minutes or so and you will observe that you have more control over yourself.

Plan ahead

Develop the habit of getting organized. Plan your schedule and prepare some extra time at hand. Getting into the habit of planning things ahead will make you see the whole picture and help in the finishing up of your tasks in the stipulated time without being stressed out at all.

Break it down

Break your projects into smaller segments to make small, easy, and achievable goals. Just seeing how far you've come will give you the boost to finish up the whole without getting stressed. And if ever you need help, just don't be warry about it. Ask for help if you need it and talk yourself out.

Exercise

We all have those busy and hectic schedules round the clock but that gives no excuse to deal with your body carelessly. Incorporate exercise in your weekends, if it's difficult in the weekdays. And opt for being active all day. For instance, take the stairs instead of the lift or park your car in the farthest corner which would mean you'll have to take the longer route.

Food at your service

Well, yoga, meditation, and exercise are all wonderful techniques to beat stress but there's one thing we completely forgot- food! You see, foods are packed with a wide range of nutrients, antioxidants, and hundreds of thousands of phytochemicals that lower the levels of stress hormone to keep you stress-free. Here's a little list of the stress warriors for you:-

  • Avocados
  • Oranges
  • Pistachio
  • Spinach
  • Walnut

And with this, we come to the end.

True, stress is bothersome but don't let it play on you instead beat it at its own game. Because you have all the techniques laid out to fight it. In addition to it all, a warm bubble bath with lighted candles will set the mood and is always at your service!
